Stavros Halkias’s second Netflix hour has a date. Uncle Stav premieres Tuesday, September 8.
He taped it in July at The Lyric in Baltimore, his hometown. Matt Johnson directed. Johnson also directed A24’s Anthony Bourdain film Tony. Halkias and Ben O’Brien exec produced for Stavvy Baby Entertainment. Netflix rates it TV-MA.
The April taping got pushed after Halkias broke his arm. Deadline broke the September 8 date.
Netflix’s own line: “In this unruly set, Stavros Halkias imagines becoming a ‘dirtbag’ uncle, roasts the health care system and warns of the risks of living your best life.” It goes up on Netflix September 8.
After Fat Rascal, a hometown tape
His last Netflix special was 2023’s Fat Rascal. Before that, the 2022 YouTube hour Live at the Lodge Room. He hosts the podcast Stavvy’s World.
Halkias also plays Dave on Shane Gillis’s Tires. Season 3 dropped Thursday.
